Good nutrition is something every person in the world needs every single day. And while we all know that the best way to get good nutrition is through well-balanced, diverse diet, 2 billion people around the world are still undernourished.

Why? Simply put, not everyone in the world has access to a diverse diet of vegetables and meat. They rely on readily available and often inexpensive “staple” foods that have few nutrients and, as a result, one third of the world’s people are under-nourished.

Given the scope of under nutrition, we are focused globally to increase access to essential nutrients - vitamins, minerals and essential fats - that are necessary for good health and development.

Ensuring pregnant women, new mothers, and young children have access to essential nutrients is fundamental to improving the health and well-being of people and communities around the world. In fact, good nutrition matters most in these first 1,000 days from a woman’s pregnancy to a child’s second birthday. During this “window of opportunity” good nutrition puts children on the right track to grow up healthy with proper physical growth and brain development, helping children reach their full potential. This is the investment sweet spot and it is where we are focused on making an impact.

Home nutrition packets are a proven cost-effective way for mothers around the world to get essential nutrients into their children’s and their own diets.  These small packets containing a combination; of vitamins and minerals – such as Vitamin A, Iron and Zinc - can be produced locally and cost-effectively. The packets cost as little as 3 cents each, making them affordable and allowing families to continue to eat the local foods they eat every day rather than replacing them with new products.
