U.S. Funding for Nutrition: Laying it Out on the Table

Within the U.S. foreign assistance budget, there are a number of priorities: infrastructure, security, and agriculture to name a few. And as our latest infographic illustrates, basic nutrition is relatively low on that list, at least in terms of funding. This year just 0.5% of U.S. funding for foreign assistance is being directed to basic nutrition, despite the fact that nutrition is an essential ingredient to improving maternal and child health, reducing preventable childhood deaths and improving livelihoods.

Through the Future Fortified campaign, we are working to grow a community of supporters and advocates for improved nutrition globally. By informing ourselves (and others) we can in turn influence our policy makers to raise nutrition as a global priority.

This is just the first step – education. Share this infographic through your networks and let’s start building our community of advocates and champions!
